Darren Kittleson, Broker Operating Principal CRB, SRS, RENE

Darren has has been in the residential real estate business for 31 years.  Early in his career he learned that to be highly successful at helping home sellers and buyers he needed to spend a portion of each day managing his mindset.  Making certain that in doing that, he could then be an even greater asset to his clients.  In 2003 he launched his first brokerage office in Madison Wisconsin.  He now has 2 brokerages and 150 great real estate agents who work with him.  That company was named "Best in Madison" for 2020 as the Gold Winner based upon votes placed by the community. 

Lisa Avila, Team Leader Madison West

Lisa began her career in the housing industry as a lender in the Madison, WI area.  After many years in Wisconsin, she continued her lending career in Las Vegas, NV as a partner of one of the largest mortgage companies in the city. 

Upon returning to Wisconsin, she was launched into another part of the industry as a new home sales consultant which prompted acquiring her real estate broker's license.  She has spent the last 6 years as a real estate broker successfully running her own brokerage and developing others.

Lisa has a passion to help others succeed with a love for the housing industry and the people in it!  She is excited to be a part of the leadership team at Keller Williams allowing her to touch even more lives.

Michael De Smidt, Team Leader Madison East

Originally from Wisconsin, for a 13 year period it was Michael's privilege to be involved with and represent one of Southwest Florida's most innovative and influential real estate development companies, Stock Development. During his tenure within the Organization, roles spanned from Land Development Coordinator, to Loan Processor, to nine years as an award winning New Home Sales Associate. 

Moving to and starting his career in Naples, Florida in late 2005 proved to be a true blessing in allowing Michael to observe what the top of a market cycle looks like along with witnessing the professional and personal impacts a shifting market had for those who were caught off guard. He was young with no debt, so the economic downturn had no negative financial impact, and actually provided a massive amount of opportunity from purchasing homes and renovating them to starting a sales career in 2009, a period where your systems had to be precise. There was no room for agents "mailing it in" and many were forced out of the industry by bad habits or an unwillingness to evolve. That period of time taught unforgettable lessons and left a lasting impression regarding how to position yourself in preparation for a shift, what to do when it happens and what activities must be developed to thrive rather than just survive. 

More recently, in early 2019, Michael, his wife and children relocated to Madison, Wisconsin.   He serves  the Keller Williams Madison East Market Center in the role of Team Leader.
